Kentucky Volleyball releases dates and opponents for 2022 season

Craig Skinner’s squad will return to action at the end of the summer.

On Thursday, the Kentucky Volleyball program released the dates and opponents for the upcoming regular season, which includes 27 matches, 15 coming at home. The Wildcats will kick off the 2022 campaign with a pair of games at Memorial Coliseum on Aug. 26 and 28 with a home matchup against defending national champion Wisconsin set for a couple of weeks after. Kentucky’s annual Battle of the Bluegrass against Louisville will come back to Lexington on Sept. 14.

Official start times, television assignments, and ticket details will be announced in the coming months.

The 2022 Southeastern Confernce schedule will begin with a two-game series at home against LSU on Sept. 24-25, continuing throughout the next two months before concluding with another two-game home series against South Carolina on Nov. 25-26. Kentucky will play six two-match series and six single-match games against one SEC opponent.

UK head coach Craig Skinner and his Wildcats are coming off a 2021 season that resulted in a 25-5 overall record, but a surprise early exit from the NCAA Tournament. Kentucky was talented, but not quite to the same level as the national championship squad from the season prior. Coach Skinner lost All-Americans Ali Stumler and Madi Skinner but is returning plenty of production from last year while adding quality transfer prospects along the way.
