It was a very good week for the Kentucky Volleyball team. On Sunday, the Cats won their fourth-straight match, beating Ole Miss 3-1 at Rupp Arena. Two days prior, they took down Missouri in Columbia 3-1. Kentucky is now 7-7 and 5-1 in the SEC. It’s the first time the Cats have been .500 since early September.

On Monday, three Kentucky Wildcats were honored by the league for their performances. Brooklyn DeLeye was named SEC Freshman of the Week, Emma Grome SEC Setter of the Week, and Eleanor Beavin SEC Defensive Player of the Week. It is the first time this season Kentucky has had three weekly award winners.

DeLeye had 18 kills in the win vs. Missouri on Friday and 19 vs. Ole Miss on Sunday. She is Kentucky’s first freshman with three-straight double-doubles since AVCA National Player of the Year Madison Lilley did it in 2017. DeLeye was also the leading point-scorer for both teams in both matches over the weekend.

Junior setter Emma Grome directed Kentucky’s offense to a .331 hitting percentage over the weekend while averaging 13.75 assists. She had 110 assists over the two matches, becoming the eighth player in program history to cross the 3,000-assist mark in her career. Junior libero Eleanor Beavin averaged 5 digs per set over the weekend, setting a new season-high with 23 vs. Missouri. She had 17 digs on Sunday vs. Ole Miss, bringing her streak of games with 10+ digs to 14.

Kentucky is back in action Sunday at Tennessee. First serve is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET and the match will air on the SEC Network.

Watch Point Kentucky, KSR’s Volleyball Show

Did you know KSR does a live volleyball show each week? KSR volleyball beat writer Hunter Mitchell and former Wildcat great Leah Edmond discuss Craig Skinner’s Cats every Thursday night at 8 p.m. ET on Point Kentucky on the KSR YouTube Channel.

Last week, they were thrilled to discuss a winning streak, which started with road victories over Georgia and Alabama. Two more wins later, I’m sure they’ll be even more excited to get behind the mics on Thursday night. Brooklyn DeLeye will join the show fresh off her SEC Freshman of the Week honor.
