For the first 20 minutes of Sunday night’s game, Kentucky Women’s Basketball was looking incredibly solid. Then, out of the halftime break, foul trouble and a lack of depth put the Wildcats in an untenable situation. As a result, UK fell on the road to No. 8 Indiana in what wound up as a blowout loss, 88-67.

Kentucky is 2-1 after the first week of the 2021-22 season, beating Presbyterian College and North Alabama by a combined 70 points in its first two outings. That pair of wins didn’t do much to give UK much credibility though. The AP Poll updated its Top 25 on Monday and Kentucky WBB dropped six spots from No. 13 to No. 19.

No other team currently in the Top 25 fell father than the ‘Cats.

With Indiana beating UK convincingly, the Hoosiers jumped up four spots to No. 4. in the nation. Louisville fell down four spots to No. 10 after losing to then-No. 22 Arizona this past Friday. South Carolina and UConn remain at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively.

Kentucky WBB will utilize a week off before taking the floor again this Sunday at Memorial Coliseum against Winthrop. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. EST and will be broadcast on the SEC Network+.
