Kentucky WBB falls to No. 12 in latest AP Poll Top 25

Following a 1-1 week that included the first conference loss of the season, Kentucky women’s basketball only dropped one spot in the latest rankings update.
The Wildcats were slotted at No. 12 in the Associated Press’ Week 13 Top 25 Poll, which was released on Monday.
Following a 5-0 start to Southeastern Conference play, Kentucky finally dropped a league game last week. UK came up short 61-55 on the road to Texas A&M this past Thursday. A 1-18 shooting clip from beyond the arc doomed the ‘Cats. But Kenny Brooks‘ team responded well at home on Sunday with a dominant 89-69 win over Arkansas. Kentucky is now 6-1 in the SEC but has only faced one ranked opponent during that span (an 18-point win over No. 23 Vanderbilt).

Looking at the latest NET Rankings, Kentucky dropped one spot on Monday to No. 22. The ‘Cats are 1-1 in Quad 1 games, 4-1 in Quad 2, 3-0 in Quad 3, and 9-0 in Quad 4. It’s been a mostly easy start to the SEC slate for Kentucky, but that changes now. Six of the remaining nine regular season games come against teams currently ranked in the AP Poll. Up first is a home game against No. 22 Alabama on Thursday.
