Kentucky women’s basketball’s roster for the 2024-25 season is shrinking quickly.

Senior forward Nyah Leveretter has entered her name into the transfer portal, according to WBBBlog and Talia Goodman of TheNextHoops. Leveretter’s profile has also been removed from the Kentucky WBB team site as of Wednesday.

That leaves the Wildcats with just five players currently on the roster for the 2024-25 season. However, Kentucky does have a pair of commitments in the 2024 class: Tanah Becker and Ramiya White.

Since head coach Kyra Elzy was relieved of her duties as head coach last week, Kentucky has seen six players from the 2023-24 roster enter their names into the portal, including leading scorers Maddie Scherr and Ajae Petty. Earlier on Wednesday, senior guard Eniya Russell, the team’s fourth-leading scorer, also elected to transfer. Janae Walker and Zennia Thomas have put their names in the portal, as well.

Leveretter, who did not play this past season while recovering from a torn ACL, was considered a four-star recruit out of Westwood (SC) High and a high-level volleyball player. The 6-foot-3 forward appeared in 14 games in a reserve role as a freshman in 2021-22 before establishing a spot in the rotation as a sophomore and junior.

During the 2021-22 season, which saw Kentucky win its first SEC Tournament title in 40 years, Leveretter averaged 2.2 points and 2.6 rebounds in 17.7 minutes per game on 50 percent overall shooting. She then started 21 of 26 games as a junior in 2022-23, averaging 2.5 points and 3.9 rebounds in 19.9 minutes per outing on a 35.1 percent shooting clip.

Unfortunately, Leveretter tore her ACL in Feb. 2023 during a loss to Vanderbilt and has not seen the floor since. She’ll enter the portal with at least one year of eligibility remaining.
