Kevin Knox signs one-year deal with Portland Trailblazers

Kevin Knox left Kentucky in 2018 as a one-and-done player, and with the exception of a three-year stint with the New York Knicks who drafted him with the 9th overall pick, he has been pretty much one-and-done at every stop during his NBA career as well.
After brief tenures with the Atlanta Hawks and Detroit Pistons, Knox landed with the Portland Trail Blazers for the second half of last season. Lucky for him, he can go ahead and renew that lease on his apartment as the team just re-signed him to a one-year deal.
Shams Charania of The Athletic reported the news on Saturday, and though details of the contract were not immediately available, it is a safe assumption he signed for roughly the league minimum, which is about $2 million for a player like Knox who has five years of experience.
Knox played in 21 games with Portland last season and started four. He averaged 8.9 points per game during that stretch and shot 32% from behind the arc. In total last season, including his time in Detroit, Knox averaged 8.5 points per game, the most since his rookie season with the Knicks when he averaged 12.8.

Knox put up some huge games during his time at Kentucky, highlighted by an incredible 34-point performance in a comeback win over West Virginia in the SEC-Big 12 challenge.
Despite that feeling like a millennium ago, Knox just turned 24 years old, and with a young and scrappy team (especially if and when they trade Damian Lillard), the smooth-shooting wing will look to rejuvenate his career in the Pacific Northwest.
