Know thine enemy

Unfortunately Lindsey Wilson, amateur figure skater pictured above, is not making the trip. So the Blue Raiders from Lindsey Wilson College come to Rupp this evening to watch the Kentucky Wildcats take on…oh, they’re playing. Well, I for one am overflowing with enthusiasm, as finally we will have other things to discuss besides recruiting and erroneous rumors. Here’s a little Lindsey Wilson culture for you: The Columbia, Ky College was named for the nephew of Catherine Wilson, a tactful fox with a soft elegance, who was the primary donor when the school was founded in 1903. The school originally served as a Vanderbilt “prep school” if you will, for those pursuing a teaching degree (women). Two twin cylinder-shaped chapels are the trademark of the campus. The structures were designed by, you guessed it, E. Fay Jones. About 84 percent of Lindsey Wilson's students come from Kentucky. The remainder come from 26 states and 31 foreign countries. Lindsey Wilson has the most diverse student population among the Kentucky's independent colleges and universities. More than 15 percent of Lindsey Wilson's student body is composed of minority students. Head Coach Paul Peck is beginning his fifth season, and carries a 79% winning clip during his time in Columbia. So what does Kentucky have to do to get the Win? Hopefully the Cats will shed the rust early and come out firing. Ramel Bradley needs to be aggressive, but also maintain a…I guess it would be easier if I just said pound it in to Morris since he’s taller than all but one Blue Raider, and that guy’s name is Anthony Labka…yeah. As every year around this time, stay healthy, and put it away early so Mark Courey can demonstrate why he deserved an offer from Lindsey Wilson after all. More insight and a lack-there-of to come tonight. Check back throughout the evening for more coverage you can usually count on. If you are heading down to Rupp for the game, we'd love to hear your thoughts and impressions as well.
