It’s almost Kentucky Football Time in the Bluegrass. The Big Blue Nation has scoured the schedule and tabulated potential wins for the Kentucky football team this fall at Kroger Field. Before you finalize plans to make the drive to Nicholasville Road, there are a few Kroger Field game day operations you need to know.

All Kentucky Football Tickets are Mobile

Long gone are the days of receiving printed season tickets in an ornately designed book. Every ticket to Kroger Field must be accessed through your mobile device. You can manage them through TicketMaster, the UK Athletics app or by visiting UKathletics.com/MyUKAccount. Download the tickets to your iPhone’s wallet before you go to avoid any WiFi delays. If you are desperate for WiFi, there are WiFi Help Zones outside of the UK ticket office and at gates 1, 4, 9 and 12.

The Kroger Field ticket office is open four hours before kickoff and closes five minutes into the third quarter.

Clear Bag Policy in Effect

Even though it’s been the case for years, this is another reminder that there is a clear bag policy at stadiums across the SEC. Each fan will be permitted to carry one large clear bag – either a one-gallon Ziploc-style bag or a 12″ x 6″ x 12″ clear bag – plus a small clutch that does not exceed 4.5″ x 6.5″.

New Kroger Field Concession Items

There are three new concession stands in the Kroger Field concourse this fall. LaDonna’s Candy Kitchen will satisfy your sweet tooth near section 119. City BBQ is bringing smoky, savory sensations to fans outside of section 17. The one that has really piqued my interest is on the second floor of Kroger Field. The Empanada Queen is near section 226 and I will be sampling some of her highness’ selections week one.

In addition to the new permanent stands, there will also be food trucks on site from BHG, Salsarita’s, Kentucky Strong BBQ and Kona Ice. Thirsty? You can’t buy any beer outside of the suites, but there is free water. Four large water tanks are located on both the lower and upper concourse that fans will be able to use to fill cups that will be provided.

Non-Permit Parking at Kroger Field

People forget you don’t need a parking pass to leave your car close to Kroger Field for Kentucky football games. The trick is getting there early enough to secure a spot. Cooper Drive is fair game for Kentucky football fans beginning Friday at Noon EST. Translation: You can carpool with a friend, drop your car off and have a tailgate spot secured a day in advance.

In addition to Cooper Drive, there are spaces for the taking in Parking Structures #2, #3 and #6. The Lextran Gameday Shuttle WILL stop by KSBar. The shuttle starts two hours before kickoff and ends one hour after the game. It costs $1 each way.
