The first round of the 2025 UK HealthCare Sports Medicine State Football Finals didn’t come with many surprises, but we did see some movement in this week’s updated statewide rankings.

Notably, Trinity’s drop to the number two spot didn’t last long — the Shamrocks are back on top this week with six of the 10 first-place votes, but the seperation between them and No. 2 Christian Academy-Louisville continues to be just a few points. Both schools won their playoff-openers in blowout fashion.

Luckily, we should see some closer results this week with second-round action happening all over the Bluegrass. The schedule currently has a couple of games set for Thursday with the bulk of the fun taking place on Friday. We’re just a few weeks away from crowning six state champions at Kroger Field.

Check out the entirety of KSR’s updated Top 25 poll below to see all of this week’s changes. Make sure to scroll all the way down for our updated class-by-class Top 5 rankings. For a full schedule of what’s on tap this Friday for the second round of the postseason, click here
