KSR GAMEDAY: Kentucky is on the Plains to face Auburn

Kentucky and Auburn have been SEC members for a long-time but these two schools have not met very much on the gridiron. For the first time since 2009, UK will play a night game at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Both teams need this one.

Hugh Freeze is on the hot seat. Mark Stoops is on the hot seat. It feels like a loss for either side could lead to some spiraling and a potential firing. It’s a loser leaves town match in college football. What a sport.

In a matchup between teams at the bottom of the SEC standings, Kentucky enters this road game with some advantages. The Cats have the better quarterback and are well positioned to attack Auburn’s biggest defensive weakness (pass defense). Auburn is likely going to utilize a run-heavy game plan and butt heads with the best part of Kentucky’s defense (the defensive front). The Tigers are the ones with the two offensive touchdowns or less scoring drought in SEC play (five games) after UK ended their streak last week against Tennessee.

Are the Cats a live dog?

Auburn is currently a 10.5-point favorite with a total of 45.5 at BetMGM. Under Hugh Freeze, the Tigers are just 4-9 ATS as a home favorite. Five road teams (New Mexico State, California, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Vanderbilt) have won outright as an underdog vs. Freeze at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Three of those upset losses were to touchdown-plus point dogs. Kentucky is 8-5 ATS as a road underdog since 2021.

Make the trip to the Plains? This is where you can find the Cats.

Kentucky has loved the all white look for road games and occasionally we will see that look juiced up by adding chrome helmets. But the Big Blue Nation loves to see blue in the uniform. The outfit on Saturday is one that many fans will love.

The Cats are going blue-white-blue.

Kentucky last wore this combo in a Week 6 road loss to Georgia.

Dodgers force Game 7

American’s underdog is still alive. The Los Angeles Dodgers somehow found a way to force a single-elimination game in the World Series. How did this franchise do it? Money talks.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto continue his stellar postseason with six innings of one-run ball to set the table for a big win. The defense took it from there with a huge double play in the ninth inning to secure a 3-1 win against Toronto.

Game 7 will take place at 8 p.m. ET.
