Hitting the road to follow the Wildcats is one of the best parts about working for Kentucky Sports Radio. During these trips memories are created that last a lifetime. The 2023 trip to Columbia, South Carolina was one I’d rather forget.

The excursion in the penultimate week of the 2023 regular season was three days of Murphy’s Law biting us in the keister time and time again. We should have known things weren’t going to go well when we entered the mountains and the forest was on fire.

Shortly after that we were in a wreck, one that could’ve been much worse, resulting in a duct-tape job that had to hold together the bumper of my Nissan Altima for more than 500 miles. Through those travels we watched Kentucky fall apart at Williams-Brice Stadium and got to know a Kentucky State Trooper on the side of US-25.

That’s only half the story, watch the KSR crew get consumed by the South Carolina Sandstorm in the Road Trip from Hell.
