It’s that time of the year once again! Kentucky Sports Radio is looking to add a talented student intern for the upcoming fall 2025 college semester. If you’re a passionate Kentucky Wildcats fan who has a desire to work in the world of sports media, then we have the perfect opportunity for you.

The position is quite simple — we’re interested in bringing on someone eager to provide coverage on UK Athletics programs, primarily the women’s volleyball team, which is expected to make another run at an SEC championship this season, with the opportunity to keep tabs on sports such as men’s and women’s soccer, gymnastics, rifle, and local high school football when neccessary. This internship will include accomplishing tasks such as attending games/matches in person, interviewing student athletes during media opportunities, and providing written postgame material, among other responsibilities.

This position is unpaid and is intended to be filled by currently enrolled college students for academic credit only. The internship will officially begin with the start of the fall semester and finish around the week of finals. It is not required that the applicant be enrolled at the University of Kentucky, although it is highly recommended for anyone interested in applying.

Over the years, KSR has seen a great number of our former interns go on to acquire full-time jobs in the world of sports, including at organizations such as ESPN, Sports Illustrated, On3/Rivals, television and radio stations all over the country, and even within KSR itself. You could be next!

Interested in applying? Here’s what we need from you.

  1. An updated resume
  2. At least two written samples of your previous work
  3. Your availability during the upcoming 2025 fall college semester

Send all of the above to [email protected] to submit your application. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, August 12, at 10:00 p.m. ET. Good luck!
