The long wait is finally over. College football has returned, and our Saturdays should be thrilling over the next three months.

Week Zero arrives today and will serve as an appetizer for us college football consumers before the full spread shows up next week. There will be 11 college football games played with action running for over 13 hours. The dog days of summer are officially over.

The KSR crew is more than ready for the games to begin. We will be completely locked in for Nebraska and Northwestern from Ireland to begin the day and then will finish our night taking in Hawai’i and Vanderbilt. Let’s watch some freaking football.

To get us ready for the night, we’ve provided a full primer of today’s games, and the “Pick 3” crew has delivered some winners for those of you who like to have some skin in the game.

A nooner for Kentucky vs. Louisville on the hardwood

We are very much in football mode as the end of August quickly approaches, but there are still some details to be ironed out regarding Kentucky’s 2022-23 basketball schedule. One of the biggest games of the slate got an official tip time on Friday.

Kenny Payne will be bringing his first Louisville team to Rupp Arena to face Kentucky on New Year’s Eve for a noon EST time tip with the game being shown on CBS. The premium non-conference game will be a table setter for the two college football playoff games that will also be played today.

When looking at the bowl schedule, both the Music City Bowl and Sugar Bowl are on the slate for a noon kickoff with Kentucky and Louisville going head-to-head. Both of those games have SEC tie-ins. A potential football vs. basketball dynamic could be in play.

Let’s hope it does not get to that point, but Kentucky and Louisville face some stiff television competition on the biggest college football television day of the season.

Here is what we know about Kentucky’s non-conference schedule at this point:

  • Yale, TBD
  • Duquesne, TBD
  • Michigan State, Indianapolis, Nov. 15
  • North Florida, Nov. 18
  • at Gonzaga, Nov. 20
  • Bellarmine, Nov. 29
  • Michigan, London, Dec. 4
  • UCLA, New York, Dec. 17
  • Louisville, Dec. 31
  • Kansas, Jan. 28

High School Football Week 2 wraps up
