We have to stop meeting like this. Another Monday, another gut punch for Big Blue Nation after Kentucky Football’s blowout loss at Vanderbilt. The 45-17 loss snapped a three-game winning streak and sucked the air out of what was already a tough season. But ready or not, it’s Rivalry Week. Louisville hosts the Wildcats on Saturday, limping in after three straight losses of its own, setting up a Governor’s Cup matchup between two fan bases desperate for something positive. Thankfully, not everything is doom and gloom around here because Kentucky Volleyball is rolling into the SEC Tournament semifinals tonight, plus plenty more happening around Big Blue Nation to keep us occupied as we try to shake off another rough football weekend. Let’s get to it.

Monday with Mark Stoops

Today is the last Monday with Mark Stoops of the regular season, as UK’s head ball coach gets ready for the Governor’s Cup with a preview conversation. Stoops will take questions from the local media about the disappointment at Vanderbilt and the state of the team heading into the Louisville game. Find all of those comments here on KentuckySportsRadio.com later today.

After that, you can hear Stoops chat with Tom Leach, and maybe a caller, at 6 p.m. on the UK Sports Network. You can also watch his postgame press conference from Saturday.

Kentucky Volleyball advanced in the SEC Tournament with a sweep

Kentucky Volleyball kept its SEC win streak rolling on Sunday with a clean 3–0 sweep of Auburn, the tournament’s No. 8 seed, in the quarterfinals. Brooklyn DeLeye led the way with 15 kills, while Eva Hudson turned in a 13-kill, zero-error day as the top-seeded Wildcats hit .349 as a team.

It was UK’s first SEC Tournament appearance since 2005, and the fun continues today.

Kentucky plays Tennessee in the semis today

The Wildcats get right back to it today, playing Tennessee in the semifinal round. Kentucky beat No. 19 Tennessee earlier this season in Lexington, 3-1.

Mark Pope’s first call-in show of the season
