This is not March, but it’s awfully close. After two seasons without any Madness, it feels like the BBN is finally remembering that spectacular feeling that occurs each spring. It’s one part anticipation, mixed in with a few dashes of excitement and this year it comes with a giant spoonful of confidence. These Cats are hitting their stride at the right time and the next six weeks will be an exhilarating ride back into the Madness. Prepare accordingly.

Wildcats Make News

Kentucky’s big win over Kansas was still headline news Monday evening. The victory launched UK up seven spots to No. 5 in the AP Poll, a momentous move that was featured on “The Lead” on ESPN’s news-crawl Monday night. That could not have happened without heroics from Keion Brooks, the SEC Player of the Week, and Oscar Tshiebwe, the Naismith Trophy’s National Player of the Week.

The Journey Continues

Unlike John Calipari’s team, KyWildcatsTV is undefeated.

Kentucky Needs a New O-Line Coach

There is uncertainty in the air around the Joe Craft Football Training Facility. Mark Stoops and Liam Coen need a new offensive line coach. Who will it be? Adam Luckett has cast a net around a solid group of candidates. If all goes according to plan, we may know before the week concludes.

One candidate is contingent upon another move. Michigan’s Sherrone Moore may be on the move if Jim Harbaugh decides to hang up the khakis in Ann Arbor. After conducting one interview with the Vikings, Harbaugh will travel to Minnesota for an in-person interview on National Signing Day. That’s not something a head coach does unless they plan on leaving their college football coaching job. The coaching carousel never stops turning.

Louisville Needs a New AD

Is Tom Jurich once again the man for the job? There was a Petrino 2.0. Now the man best known around the BBN as Captain Suntan believes Tom 2.0 could happen.

I hate to break it to Mr. Ramsey, but Jurich will not be returning to the University of Louisville anytime soon.

Auburn is a Mess

Bruce Pearl is providing a nice distraction for Bryan Harsin on the plains. Only a month after hiring a new offensive coordinator, Austin Davis stepped down from the position. Harsin is now looking for his third offensive coordinator in a year. At this rate, his seat is so hot he might not make it to the Iron Bowl.

They did hire a former Wildcat shortly after that news broke. Jared Tucker was a cornerback in Kentucky’s 2014 recruiting class that eventually transferred to EKU. Now he’ll serve as Auburn’s personnel and scouting coordinator.

Chris Beard Returns to Lubbock

The man who took Texas Tech to its first and only Final Four is making his highly anticipated homecoming Tuesday night. Chris Beard did not receive a laurel and hearty handshake upon his arrival in Lubbock. (Yes, there’s NSFW language and a “JUDAS!”)

Beard’s 23rd-ranked Longhorns will take on No. 14 Texas Tech tonight at 9 pm ET on ESPN2. Other college basketball games you will find on TV tonight:

  • Boston College at Virginia Tech | 6 pm | ACCN
  • Creighton at #17 UConn | 6:30 pm | FS1
  • #10 Kansas at #20 Iowa State | 7 pm | ESPN
  • #13 Michigan State at Maryland | 7 pm | ESPN2
  • Texas A&M at #22 Tennessee | 7 pm | SECN
  • North Carolina at Louisville | 8 pm | ACCN
  • Seton Hall at Georgetown | 8:30 | FS1
  • Alabama at #1 Auburn | 9 pm | ESPN
  • #15 Providence at St. John’s | 9 pm | CBSSN
  • Ole Miss at #25 LSU | 9 pm | SECN
