Good morning, folks! We’ve got a busy weekend ahead of us. Big Blue Madness is Friday night followed by a massive showdown at Kroger Field against No. 16 Mississippi State on Saturday. Keeneland is also an option. Plenty of poor decisions will be made across the city of Lexington over the next few days.

But today is only Thursday, meaning we have to suffer through the rest of the workweek just a little bit longer. The good news is we have plenty of Kentucky sports content to help get you there. We’ll start with the Kentucky football defense, which spoke with the media on Wednesday to give their thoughts on the team and this weekend’s matchup.

Defensive coordinator Brad White along with Carrington ValentineTyrell Ajian, and DeAndre Square all gave their thoughts. You can watch/listen below.

Later today, we’ll hear once again from Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops, who will preview Saturday’s game against Mississippi State. Speaking of Stoops…

Update on Will Levis’s status

It sounds like Will Levis will be back in action Saturday night at Kroger Field. After missing the South Carolina game with a foot injury, the Kentucky quarterback returned to practice Monday. During Wednesday’s SEC Teleconference, Mark Stoops said he expects Levis to be in uniform against Mississippi State.

“Obviously, it’s important to get our quarterback back, get him out there. He’s been able to practice the first couple days of the week. We’ll see how it goes today,” Stoops said of Levis. “Right now it seems like he’ll be healthy, barring any setbacks. Obviously that brings a lot of energy to our team.”

Later on in the teleconference, SEC reporting legend Bob Holt asked Stoops if he believes Will Levis will be able to play Saturday night.

“I do. I feel like barring any setbacks, he should be good to go,” Stoops added. “He’s been out there Monday, Tuesday and we practice this afternoon; expecting him to be out there today. We hope he’s at or near full strength.”

Good news.

Kentucky-Indiana basketball series back?

It’s sure looking that way.

Multiple sources tell Jon Rothstein that Kentucky and Indiana are in “advanced discussions” to play a multi-year series with games both on campus and at neutral sites. Before you get too excited, Rothstein reports that the series isn’t expected to start for “a couple of years.”

Make it happen, Cal.

Volleyball, men’s soccer continue winning streaks

A pair of nationally ranked Wildcat teams extended their winning streaks on Wednesday night.

First, the No. 19 volleyball ‘Cats cruised to its sixth straight win by taking down Ole Miss at Memorial Coliseum. Sophomore setter Emma Grome registered 48 assists and a career-high six aces while senior middle blocker Azhani Tealer added 15 kills. Kentucky won the match in four sets, 3-1, and moves to 11-5 overall with a 5-1 mark in SEC play. The ‘Cats will take the next 10 days off before returning to the floor.

KSR’s Ian Alvano has a full recap of the match right here.

Not far down the road, the No. 2 ranked Kentucky men’s soccer team kept its undefeated season alive with a clutch second-half comeback. The Wildcats (8-0-3) were able to tie No. 16 Dayton 2-2 thanks to an 85th-minute goal from freshman Max Miller. UK will take on West Virginia on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. EST in Morgantown, WV.

KSR’s latest intern addition, Katelyn Perkins, has us covered with a full game recap from the win that you can check out here.
