KSR tours Mississippi State (and its strange book collection) ahead of matchup in Starkville

To its credit, Mississippi State is nicer than Starkville’s reputation would lead you to believe. Campus is beautiful and the athletic facilities are even better — plus they’re all bunched together, so you get a big-time sports town vibe. All school activities were shut down Friday due to the weather, so we got the place to ourselves, the KSR crew driving through and walking around campus to check everything out. It was the calm before the storm of Kentucky‘s matchup inside Humphrey Coliseum late Saturday evening, chaos brewing as we speak.
Watch the tour through our eyes, checking out the basketball, football and baseball facilities, academic buildings and the official campus bookstore — which features the wildest book selection you will ever see. My favorite part? What happened to us before we even got to the parking lot of our hotel, a maid having us convinced a horrific tragedy had taken place on the third floor by frantically banging on the window, only to have us mistaken for someone else.
What’s not shown in the video is the hotel manager had 911 dialed before the maid came down to clear up the confusion (and get my heart to stop pounding).
