KSR's Five Championship Saturday Bets on MyBookie

March Madness is peak gambling season and Championship Saturday is a great day to sprinkle a little money throughout college basketball. If you’re interested in some action, KSR’s friends at MyBookie have lines and props for today’s slate of games and you don’t have to cross state lines to access them. Even better, you can join MyBookie’s bracket contest for a unique way to make your picks this March.

For now, let’s go over five plays I like on MyBookie’s big board

Kentucky over 70 points

We’ll lead off with the home team, your University of Kentucky Wildcats. I’m holding a money line ticket at -150, but I’m most interested in Kentucky’s team total in the game. The over/under is 70.

Last night, Vanderbilt’s Jordan Wright said he thought he was playing in Rupp Arena because of Big Blue Nation’s takeover of Amalie Arena. If it feels like Rupp Arena to the players, maybe Kentucky will hang another 100-piece on Tennessee as it did in Rupp in the regular season. Unlikely, but over 70 points seems likely to me. If not, there could be trouble.

Get to 71 first and beat those Vols.

Texas A&M +6

In the first game in Tampa, look for Texas A&M to keep it close against Arkansas. A&M is still a bubble team and a win may earn the Aggies an invite to the Big Dance, so expect a good effort from Buzz Williams’ group.

A look at history, Texas A&M and Arkansas played twice already this season and the home team won each game, although Arkansas needed overtime in Bud Walton Arena. A&M beat the Razorbacks in College Station, 85-80.

Arkansas has not been very impressive outside of Fayetteville this year.

Kansas/Texas Tech over 134.5

Let’s go out to the Big 12 Championship where Kansas and Texas Tech will battle it out for the league tournament title. I don’t love either side of the 2.5-point spread, so let’s take the over and see what happens. We gotta have action on a 6 p.m. title fight, right?

The Jayhawks and Red Raiders combined for 142 and 185 points in the two regular season meetings, the latter needing two overtimes in Lawrence. The teams split the series.

Let’s root for points in Kansas City.

Duke -6

In the ACC Championship game, Virginia Tech is a surprise participant after beating Clemson in OT in the second round, then Notre Dame, then taking UNC’s spot against Duke in the championship game. Now a fourth game in four days for the Hokies, I worry about those legs and Virginia Tech relies on its high 3-point shooting percentage, the fourth-best mark in the country.

The heart will be rooting for more Duke tears and a VT upset. The gut says take the Blue Devils, although Duke hasn’t looked great recently.

Davidson -3.5

With nothing but love for Travis Ford and his Saint Louis Billikens, I have to side with the Fighting Tyler Thompsons of Davidson in the first Atlantic 10 semifinal game of the day. Davidson has a top-10 offense according to KenPom and won the one regular season meeting by 21 points. That’s enough for me.

Sorry, Travis.
