KSR's Not-So-Rapid Reaction: Kentucky wins GOLD at GLOBL JAM
Four wins in five days for the Kentucky Wildcats in the 2023 GLOBL JAM, defeating Team Canada for a second and final time to earn the gold medal in the international showcase held in Toronto.
What went right for John Calipari’s squad in the four-game trip? How about Antonio Reeves’ MVP performance — he averaged 23 points per game on 57.9% shooting and 56.3% from three? Reed Sheppard, Tre Mitchell and Adou Thiero were welcomed surprises, while the five-star freshmen also proved themselves on the big stage. And look at that ball movement, 103 total assists on 142 made field goals. Plus an average of 29.3 3-point attempts per contest — that would clear the most for a Calipari-coached Kentucky team by ten.
KSR’s Jack Pilgrim and Zack Geoghegan broke it all down in a not-so-rapid edition of our Rapid Reactions (traveling home from Canada was a disaster, but the celebration was worth the wait).
