There is optimism around Kentucky Basketball again as the team heads into March and that means you should clear your schedule of any spring commitments until the bracket comes out. With newfound energy, excitement, and scoring offense around the Wildcats, it’s time to decline all invites to weddings, birthdays, showers, or any other events that could coincide with an NCAA Tournament game. This social blackout period now spans through Monday, April 3, the date of the national championship game, because, hey, you never know. Kentucky’s hot right now.

Not just for social gatherings, this rejection of all commitments also extends into our judicial system. Because in Lexington District Court on Tuesday, a lawyer requested to move a client’s next court date to a day that doesn’t conflict with a potential Final Four run by Kentucky. Brian Stahl, a photographer for WLEX-18, was at the afternoon arraignments and he tweeted, “A lawyer asked to move a client’s next court date due to the possibility of (Kentucky) would be in the final four.”

The motion was granted.

Because judges are Kentucky fans, too.

Kentucky now 35-to-1 to win the NCAA Championship

It wasn’t too long ago when you could get Kentucky at +10000 (100-to-1) to win the national championship. But since the recent resurgence, the price has dropped to +3500 (35-to-1), the fifteenth shortest odds to win the title.

Houston is currently the betting favorite at +650.
