After multiple stellar performances,
UK junior centerfielder Kyle Barrett was named SEC Player of the Week.
Barrett hit .556 (10-for-18) with a home run, seven runs scored, and four RBI on the week, which concluded with a series win against 20th-ranked Mississippi State.
He also extended his six-game hitting streak in the process, five of which were multi-hit games.
The Wildcats' leadoff man was an All-SEC Freshman selection in 2013, but has really taken off in 2015 as a veteran leader.
Barrett leads UK in hitting with a .396 average (42-for-106) with 22 runs, five doubles, one homer, 13 RBI, a .439 on-base percentage and six steals. Barrett's 42 hits leads the SEC.
Barrett and the Cats will now turn their attention to midweek games at Western Kentucky and a home contest against Morehead State on Wednesday before traveling to Baton Rouge for a three-game series against the #1-ranked LSU Tigers.
