LEGAL DISCLAIMER: Pardon My Take is coming to KSR
There have been a variety of guest hosts to take over the KSR airwaves while Matt is away on vacation, but tomorrow's panel will be unlike anything you've ever heard before. Even though I'm away on vacation, as a regular listener of the Barstool Sports podcast, it's my duty to warn you for what lies ahead.
BigCat, PFT Commenter and Hank will be taking KSR into uncharted territory. Their humor is not for the faint of heart. If you can't handle a Harambe or Hitler reference, tomorrow's show might not be for you. But for those who aren't afraid to go there, people won't forget the time Pardon My Take took over KSR.
A brief history and what you should expect to see.
ESPN is Afraid of Them
PMT is only a few months old, beginning shortly after Barstool was bought by Chernin and the infamous satirist PMT Commenter came on board. Within a week they were a Top Five podcast and receiving cease and desists letters from ESPN. Apparently "Pardon My Take" is a lot like the ESPN programs "First Take" and "Pardon the Interruption." PFT responded with a cease and desist letter of his own, and with the help of America's legal expert, Mike Portnoy, the crew had a slight logo change and remains near the top of the podcast charts, ahead of ESPN.Hard-Hitting Political Reporting
I know "stick to sports" is every radio listeners favorite phrase, but you must give credit where credit is due. Even though he doesn't dabble into politics anymore, before he was at the top of the podcast charts for Barstool, PFT Commenter covered the election for SB Nation. When they announced on the podcast that they were taking over the KSR airwaves, here were the first two statements.PFT: "There's two hours in the show, with four breaks each hour. That's enough time for one, two, 215 Rick Pitino premature ejaculation jokes." BigCat: "I think I might just bring Frank Kaminsky and Sam Dekker in. We can pop in the tape from that Final Four game and I can just ask, "Hey, you remember that time you beat Kentucky?"Sure, you're going to hate BigCat for being a big fat, mustachioed, Wisconsin jerk. He'll say at least one or two things that will force your hand to reach for the radio dial, but I'm here to tell you to press pause. I will never get over the Wisconsin loss, however, nothing helped me get over the loss more than the interviews with Frank Kaminsky and Sam Dekker. I can't tell you exactly why, but they humanized the two enough for me to hate them less. Besides, hating a big goofy guy like Frank is awfully difficult after you hear him talk for 10 minutes. If you still hate BigCat for being a Badger loving S.O.B., this should make you feel better.
Jared Lorenzen Will Save the Day
If you're still pissed at BigCat, we've got a Big Blue superhero waiting to save the day. People forget that BigCat took a devastating loss to Jared Lorenzen at the Super Bowl a few years ago. BigCat challenged KSR's favorite Kentucky quarterback to a variety of random feats, from hotdog eating to bellyflop contests. This post probably didn't convince you to listen. You still might think they're disgusting, immature bros that shouldn't take of light of Harambe the gorilla's death. Even if you don't listen, you should be glad they're coming to KSR. Ahead of the Indy 500, the podcast embarked on a tour across America's heartland. "Grit Week 2016" began in Buffalo before going to Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Youngstown and Cincinnati, coming to a close at the 500.
