Lexington Eastern Secures Walk-Off Win in Little League World Series

The Boys of Summer are back. For the second time in three years, Lexington Eastern is representing Kentucky in the Little League World Series. With their backs against the wall, the 12-year-olds kept their Williamsport dreams alive by delivering in crunch time.
Lexington Eastern began the Great Lakes Regional Tournament with a thud. They were one-hit in a 7-0 loss to Ohio on Friday, putting the Commonwealth kids into an early elimination game.
The Indianapolis suburb of Whitestown is hosting the Little League Regional Tournament. Kentucky ripped out the Hoosiers’ hearts in their home state.
The game entered extra innings tied at 2-2. After giving up a run in the top of the seventh, Lexington Eastern needed two to stay alive in the Great Lakes Regional. They didn’t bat an eye. The bases were juiced with no outs and an 0-2 count. Instead of taking the pitch, Grayson Krift sent the ball to left field, driving in a pair of runs to secure a walk-off win.

The dramatic win is keeping the Kentucky Little Leagues alive for at least one more day. They’ll face Negaunee, Michigan, this afternoon at 1 PM ET. You can stream all of action on ESPN+.
If Lexington Eastern can secure the win, they’ll play tomorrow afternoon on ESPN, one game away from reaching the Great Lakes Regional Final. The first game of the Championship Round is scheduled for Wednesday night. They’re seeking to become the first team from Kentucky to reach the Little League World Series since Bowling Green’s Eastern LL in 2019.
