There is a new song you should consider adding to your weekend hip-hop playlist because it references two Kentucky Basketball head coaches—one present, the other now at Iona.
In Lil Wayne’s new verse on Polo G’s “GANG, GANG,” he mentions both John Calipari and Rick Pitino with the line:
I’m like Rick Pitino or John Calipari
I’m leadin’ my team, yeah, right to the finals
The line follows Lil Wayne saying, “I hide fettuccine from the federales,” as only he can. The shout-out is at about the 1:52 mark in the song.

One other time Lil Wayne showed Kentucky some love, he sat courtside for UK-Duke in the Champions Classic and rooted against the Blue Devils. After the game Duke’s Rasheed Sulaimon tweeted that Lil Wayne was cursing at him during the game.

With Drake already a card-carrying member of Big Blue Nation, we’ll happily make room for Lil Wayne too if he wants to keep rapping about Calipari and talking trash to Duke.
