LISTEN: Matt Jones Provides State of the Kentucky Football Program Following 4-8 Season

There are peaks and valleys in every head coach’s tenure, especially one that lasts more than a decade. After year 12, Mark Stoops finds himself back in a valley that Kentucky football fans haven’t seen since year 1.
Kentucky finished a 4-8 season with a humiliating 41-14 loss to the Louisville Cardinals. The Wildcats did not score more than 20 points against a Power Conference opponent and they’ve now lost eight straight home games against such foes.
It’s bad, but how bad and for how long? Matt Jones talked about it on the KSR Postgame Show.
As is the case for any postgame show, one must discuss the game and where exactly things went wrong. However, that almost feels like a footnote compared to the big-picture issues plaguing this program. That’s why most of Matt’s monologue touches on the deterioration of the program’s culture and the message Mark Stoops shared with fans on what’s next for the Wildcats.
