KSR's No. 24 Kentucky vs. Buffalo LIVE BLOG

After struggling to put the ball in the hoop in the season opener, Kentucky shot the light out against Monmouth, but how will they do in enemy territory? KSR’s LIVE BLOG will keep you updated throughout the game as Kentucky goes on the road to take on the Buffalo Bulls (2 p.m. ET).

Buffalo lost their head coach from a year ago, Becky Burke, to Arizona after the Bulls wen’t 30-7 overall and went on to win the Women’s National Invitation Tournament (WNIT). They return just two players from that squad, so will they be nearly as good as they were last season? We’ll have to see.

The game will stream on ESPN+, so if you’re unable to watch, we’ve got you covered. Refresh the feed below for updates and our takes on the game. You can also join the conversation on the KSBoard Game Thread.

Final: 81-47 Kentucky

11/09/2025 03:06:47 PM

A successful homecoming game for Clara Strack, who went off for a career-high 27 points, as well as 12 rebounds and four blocks as Kentucky gets its first road dub of the year. The Cats are 3-0 in back-to-back season for the first time since ’19-’20 and ’20-’21.

3:27 4Q: 70-40 Kentucky

11/09/2025 02:56:40 PM

Cats are up by 30 with just a few minutes to go. Not a perfect game — especially offensively — but Kentucky is going to come away with a very convincing road win.

FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!

11/09/2025 02:43:40 PM

Well, not really — but Clara Strack was NOT happy with how physical Buffalo has been playing, and she finally had enough. A mini-scuffle (no one was hurt) broke out near the end of the third quarter that needed a video review, which took entirely too long. Strack was ultimately hit with a flagrant one, as was the Buffalo player who helped instigate the incident. But Teonni Key, who stepped in to defend her teammate, was also hit with a flagrant. We disagree with that ruling here at KSR. But Strack was loving it regardless, giving a sarcastic clap to her hometown crowd after the officials handed out the flagrants. And oh yeah, Strack is up to 21 points, eight rebounds, and three blocks through three quarters.

End 3Q: 53-32 Kentucky

11/09/2025 02:40:58 PM

Good news: Kentucky leads by 21 with 10 minutes of game left. Bad news: Kentucky is shooting 21-46 (46%) from the field and 3-19 (16%) from three.

6:19 3Q: 44-23 Kentucky

11/09/2025 02:16:42 PM

Clara Strack keeps adding to the stat sheet, now up to 16 points, six rebounds and three blocks on the afternoon. Making her presence felt on both ends of the floor.

Is Clara Strack the best center in the country? ESPN+ thinks so.

Half: 37-17 Kentucky

11/09/2025 01:53:04 PM

Kentucky has a 20-point lead at the half at Buffalo, up 37-17. Clara Strack leads the way with 12 points, five rebounds and two blocks. Bulls are just 7-28 (25%) from the field overall.

We had a coaches’ challenge!

11/09/2025 01:47:25 PM

And it was successful! Kenny Brooks challenged an out-of-bounds call late in the first half that was originally ruled out on Clara Strack. But video replay showed the ball bounce off a Buffalo player’s toe, giving the ball back to UK. Brooks is now 1-1 on challenges this season, a new addition to the rule book in 2025-26. Let’s just ignore the fact that Kentucky turned the ball over on the next possession after Amelia Hassett was hit with an offensive foul. But hey, the coaches’ challenges are already working as hoped.

3:56 2Q: 30-16 Kentucky

11/09/2025 01:47:08 PM

Kentucky’s shooting hasn’t exactly been lights out, shooting 12-26 (2-11 3PT) from the field, but their defense has been strong in this one. Already up to five blocks on the day as a team. Clara Strack and Amelia Hassett have two apiece, and Jordan Obi has one.

End 1Q: 19-8 Kentucky

11/09/2025 01:26:47 PM

Cats are up by 11 through the first period of play Defense is, again, at an elite level. The Bulls are just 4-17 (24%) from the field. Kentucky is on a 17-4 run, but currently just 1-7 (14%) from three-point range.

4:58 1Q: 13-6 Kentucky

11/09/2025 01:11:02 PM

Clara Strack has five early points against Buffalo. Kentucky’s size advantage has been apparent thus far. Practically all of the scoring has come in the paint. Kentucky is on an 11-2 run at the moment.

Kentucky’s starting lineup

11/09/2025 12:07:01 PM

No changes to the starting five today. Tonie Morgan, Jordan Obi, Amelia Hassett, Teonni Key and Clara Strack are the first group on the floor for the Cats.
