LIVE: KSR's Rapid Reaction after Kentucky's preseason loss to the Hoya

Georgetown just has Kentucky‘s number. Though this one didn’t really count, it was the Hoyas’ third win over the Wildcats in their three all-time meetings. The 84-70 preseason exhibition loss is nowhere near the loss in the 1984 Final Four, but it still put a damper on Big Blue Nation’s excitement before the 2025-26 season opener next week.

Simply put, Kentucky couldn’t guard and Kentucky couldn’t shoot. Playing short-handed in the backcourt, UK allowed easy baskets to Georgetown’s guards, while laying bricks from the perimeter on the other end. An ugly night all the way around.

Now that it’s over, the crew is outside Rupp Arena for a Rapid Reaction that won’t have the same tone as last week’s. Still, tune in. It might be fun anyway.
