LOOK: Jacob Toppin virtually celebrates New York Knicks drafting older brother Obi Toppin

(@LilJoeBHall)
In typical 2020 fashion, Jacob Toppin had to find a creative way to attend the most important night of his brother’s life.
Jacob, who is the younger brother of former Dayton product Obi Toppin, was in attendance to watch Obi get selected by the New York Knicks with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. But while the youngest Toppin brother couldn’t be there to witness the special moment in person, Jacob still made a virtual appearance in support of Obi–through an iPad.

Obi Toppin was the National Player of the Year a season ago as a senior with the Dayton Flyers. Jacob is about to enter his sophomore season at Kentucky after transferring from Rhode Island, and there is hope that he might one day follow in his brother’s basketball footsteps. He’s already made it to his first NBA Draft “Green Room”.
Congrats to Obi–who will now learn under former Kentucky assistant Kenny Payne–and Jacob on what was an awesome moment for the entire Toppin family. Only a few more years before Obi is the one supporting Jacob on Draft night.
