The Kentucky basketball team is finally on campus and getting things ramped up before the 2019-20 college basketball season starts. Now that everyone is settled in and the roster is complete (?), the team has revealed the jersey numbers for all the Cats next season. • #0 Ashton Hagans
  • #1 Nate Sestina
  • #2 Kahlil Whitney
  • #3 Tyrese Maxey
  • #4 Nick Richards
  • #5 Immanuel Quickley
  • #10 Johnny Juzang
  • #11 Dontaie Allen
  • #12 Keion Brooks
  • #14 Brennan Canada
  • #21 Zan Payne
  • #23 EJ Montgomery
We already touched on Hagans switching from #0 to #2, which was previously worn by Quade Green. Once Green departed to Washington, Ashton jumped on the open number (despite many of us believing he was doing it for Jaden McDaniels). Maybe he was just being nice to the newcomer Khalil Whitney, who wore #2 in high school and on the AAU circuit. Immanuel Quickley wasn't giving up his number to an incoming freshman, though. Johnny Juzang wore #5 in high school, but Quickley rocked it last season and will continue to do so this season. That forced Juzang to switch to #10, which Jonny David was sure the school was retiring. Meanwhile, the other returning players are sporting the same numbers and the other newcomers are wearing their high school jersey numbers, including freshman walk-on Brennan Canada. He has big shoes to fill in #14, previously worn by "The Bucket." As for an early bold prediction on Kentucky's starting five by jersey number, I'm going to go with #0, #3, #10, #23, and #4.
