Louisville Basketball is the funniest show out right now, with new hilarious content released each day. In the latest episode, we learn the Cards piped in crowd noise during Wednesday’s practice to simulate Thursday’s Kentucky game. The punchline there is it’s a home game for Louisville.

Rick Bozich was the first to tell this new Louisville joke when he reported the piped-in sound during the “spirited practice,” as he put it while reminding his Louisville following the time of the game.

So, they’re clearly expecting a Big Blue Takeover of the KFC Yum! Center, where attendance has been at all-time lows this season. A Courier-Journal open records request revealed only 4,317 tickets were scanned for UofL’s home game against Arkansas State on December 13. A prediction: More than 4,317 scanned ticket-holders will chant Go-Big-Blue tomorrow.

There was a time not long ago when Louisville regularly played for large home crowds. The players knew big games in front of enormous audiences, not primarily empty seats and a teammate. There was a day when Louisville fans wouldn’t dare let Kentucky infiltrate their home building and a day the Cards wanted to beat the Wildcats by more than one.

Tomorrow is not that day.

Big Blue Nation will get in, likely in record numbers, and Kenny Payne thought his team needed to prepare for it on the eve of the game. Payne had his team simulate playing at home before the last home game of the non-conference schedule and calendar year.

Even worse for the Cards in the PR department, Louisville scheduled a Red Out for the rivalry game when they know Kentucky fans are coming. Free shirts will be given to UofL students, whose winter break began last weekend. I can’t wait to see the panoramic photo of the Red-Blue ratio. Can Kentucky take over half of the Yum!?

We’ll see soon as tip-off is under 24 hours away. Get in there and get loud, BBN. Louisville practiced for it.
