Louisville QB Miller Moss Will Play vs. Kentucky

Louisville is missing a lot of players. The Cards will have starting quarterback Miller Moss for the Governor’s Cup.

ESPN’s Pete Thamel reports Moss will “give it a go today.” Moss injured his foot when a dumbbell rolled onto it in the weight room. He missed last week’s game against SMU. Deuce Adams, more of a dual-threat option, went 12-17 for 94 yards in the blowout loss. Mark Stoops prepared his Kentucky defense to play both quarterbacks.

“Miller Moss, I would expect him to play and you have to prepare for that, but you have to prepare for Deuce as well,” said Mark Stoops. “Jeff has a lot of offense that he can go to and they are always hard to defend. I think they are really good in the pass game and they have a run game that can really hurt you. You have to be prepared for all of it.”

Moss became a bit of a pariah among the Louisville fanbase near the midway point of the season. The former USC Trojan struggles to connect vertically with targets. Even though he has 2,344 yards passing this fall, in seven home games he has five touchdowns and five interceptions.

Moss will be without his top wide receiver, Chris Bell. He also will not be able to hand it off to a scholarship running back. Kentucky is expected to have plenty of absences in the secondary. We’ll keep you updated as kickoff draws near.
