Louisville to hang a 2013 "Final Coaches Poll #1" banner. I swear I'm not making this up.

You know, just the other day, I was wondering if the 2013 Louisville Basketball well finally dried up. I went to that well a lot here at KentuckySportsRadio.com, as many of you may know. Remember Louisville Hate Day? We should run that back for old times’ sake. See if we still have the fastball.

Anyway, so I was wondering if the 2013 Louisville Basketball horse had been beaten to death now that all of the jokes have been told and we’re several UofL scandals removed from that one, but then today, those dirty birds reminded us the 2013 scandal is still the GOAT and that legends truly never die.

From the newsdesk of WAVE in Louisville:

UofL Athletic Director Josh Heird said a new banner would hang from the rafters where the 2013 NCAA Champion banner once stood, honoring the accomplishments of the team as part of the 2013 Men’s Basketball Reunion on Feb. 18.

The banner will read “2013 Final Coaches Poll #1.”

2013 Final Coaches Poll #1.

Louisville is hanging a coaches poll banner. A banner for the coaches poll. A banner to forever commemorate a season in which unspeakable things were done in the team facility. Things that defied gravity and put the university on probation.

This banner will go in place of the one that was removed for impersonating a real NCAA championship, a sad reminder high in the Yum! Center sky that you shouldn’t outsource some of your recruiting responsibilities to strippers. Most, if not all places of education were already aware of this but Louisville’s gotta Louisville and it cost a really good basketball team its wins.

And honestly, some of the individuals on that team, guys like Russ Smith, Peyton Siva, and Luke Hancock, deserve better than to walk out in front of the empty seats as three-win Louisville loses to Clemson this Saturday

But the banner’s still hilarious.

A coaches poll banner.
