Louisville transfer (and former Kentucky pledge) Skyy Clark commits to UCLA

Once upon a time, Skyy Clark was seen as the future point guard of John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats. He was signed, sealed and nearly delivered before backing out of his pledge and later taking his talents to Illinois to play for Brad Underwood.
From there, he hit the transfer portal after playing just 13 games in Champaign and landed in Louisville to play for Kenny Payne and the Cardinals.
We know how that story ended. It was a solid season for Clark personally, averaging 13.2 points, 3.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists per contest before entering the portal again following Payne’s departure. The former five-star guard considered a return to UofL depending on the school’s next hire, but clearly wasn’t feeling Pat Kelsey and his stories of meeting Saint Peter at the pearly gates.
Instead, he’s deciding to head back home, the Los Angeles native announcing his commitment to Mick Cronin and UCLA.
“It’s home,” Clark told On3. “I was raised in LA. I was recruited by Cronin and the coaching staff in the past and I trust in their vision for the team and for me.”

After going public with his decision, he wrote his goodbye message to the Cardinals, thanking them for his time under Payne — no matter how bad the year was with just eight total wins.
“This goes out to #CardNation I will forever cherish and love my time playing for the red and black,” Clark wrote on social media. “To the entire city of Louisville I LOVE YOU!!!”
Clark went for a career-high 36 points on 12-17 shooting in his final game with the Cards, a 94-85 loss to NC State in the ACC Tournament. Now, he’s getting a fresh start back home with the Bruins.
Best of luck to the former Cat.
