Kentucky football is familiar with the Mid-American Conference. The Wildcats very much play a round robin with the Group of Five conference in non-conference scheduling. Another former player will be taking a part in MACtion in 2024.

Kentucky off-ball linebacker transfer Luke Fulton committed to Kent State on Friday.

The Youngstown (Ohio) Cardinal Mooney product spent three years at Kentucky after transferring from Michigan State. Fulton spent two seasons in East Lansing before moving to the SEC. The former top-500 recruit in the class of 2019 saw most of his action in Lexington on special teams. Fulton recorded two tackles in 2023 and only played 31 defensive snaps over three years at Kentucky, according to PFF data. The transfer will be a super senior using his COVID-19 year under second-year head coach Kenni Burns at Kent State. The Golden Flashes finished 1-11 in 2023.

Kentucky currently seven scholarship off-ball linebackers on the roster with the addition of Georgia transfer Jamon-Dumas Johnson in the winter transfer portal window.
