Malachi Moreno is on the board first at the Joe Craft Center

Move-in week is one of the most exciting times of summer for Kentucky basketball, the official transition for recruits and portal additions as they become Wildcats. It’s our first time meeting the new guys in blue and white before workouts begin — nothing like those early reports of standouts and scrimmage winners.
Eight of the ten signees have arrived: Jayden Quaintance, Denzel Aberdeen and Jaland Lowe making up the first wave, followed by Jasper Johnson, Kam Williams, Malachi Moreno, Reece Potter and Braydon Hawthorne. The only players left are Mouhamed Dioubate and Andrija Jelavic — along with Otega Oweh, Brandon Garrison, Collin Chandler and Trent Noah returning, but they’re plenty familiar with the area and basketball facilities.
Right now is about the new kids on the block, and we have our first sign of activity at the Joe Craft Center going into the weekend (with plenty more to come, surely).
Malachi Moreno, who moved in Thursday at the Wildcat Coal Lodge, got shots up with his brother, Michael, on the practice floor. His older brother finished his career at EKU as the only player in school history with 1,500-plus points and 900-plus rebounds while also ranking first career 3-pointers made (334) and games played (161).

The legendary Colonel and Wildcat freshman traded 3-pointers on The Gun.
As of this post, the Morenos are the only ones to share footage from the Joe Craft Center — makes sense, considering Malachi will be playing in the 2025 Kentucky/Indiana All-Star Game on Friday at Lexington Catholic High School. Gotta get ready to beat the Hoosiers, right?
That game is scheduled for 7:30 PM ET with tickets still available HERE. A purchase allows you to participate in the meet-and-greet with Kentucky’s Mr. Basketball at 5 PM.
KSR will be in attendance tonight at the KY/IN All-Star Game — and don’t be surprised if Moreno’s teammates show up to support, either. Could be a packed house with familiar faces for Big Blue Nation.
There is plenty more summer practice footage where that comes from, likely sooner rather than later.
