WATCH: Mark Pope's press conference after Kentucky's 35-point loss to Gonzaga

It was another short and somber press conference after Kentucky’s 94-59 loss to Gonzaga, the Cats’ fourth to a ranked opponent in nine games. Mark Pope, Collin Chandler, and Jaland Lowe sat down with the media for about six minutes, fielding questions on Kentucky’s worst loss by point margin since 2008, and the Big Blue Nation’s reaction to it at Bridgestone Arena.

Gonzaga started the game 19-2. Kentucky missed its first ten field goals, not making one until almost nine minutes into the game. This comes after the Cats went over ten minutes without scoring a field goal in the second half vs. North Carolina on Tuesday.

What gives? Pope didn’t have a ton of answers.

“I felt like we came out, and I think the guys were really trying to be physical. I think they were really trying to get contact. And I felt like we were really physical, we were really tentative, and that’s something we’ve got to figure out. It’s almost like we got ourselves in a space where we were a little paralyzed offensively.

“So, I don’t have a lot more than that right now. I felt like we struggled to get downhill, struggled to turn the corner, struggled to kind of be on our toes on the offensive end. It was surprising. We’ll figure it out.”

It wasn’t any better on the defensive end. Hit play below to hear Pope’s comments on that and the boos that rained down on the Cats from the Kentucky fans at Bridgestone Arena.
