The Kentucky football team participated in what should be its final scrimmage of fall camp on Saturday, a head-to-head battle of offense vs. defense just two weeks away from kick-off.

How did the Wildcats look? Have head coach Mark Stoops tell you, with quarterback Will Levis and defensive lineman Octavious Oxendine providing their thoughts, as well.

Mark Stoops

Stoops opened the afternoon praising his team’s efforts in the scrimmage, saying there was “some good, some bad,” but stressing he had a “good nucleus and a good team.”

He also shed light on the running back position, wide receiver play, Jordan Dingle emerging at the tight end position, Will Levis’ growth, the backup quarterbacks and more.

Will Levis

Levis said the Kentucky offense made “big steps” in the scrimmage today, a cleaner day than last week’s head-to-head battle.

He also discussed his pass-catching options, game preparation for Miami (OH) and building chemistry with Rich Scangarello, among other topics.

Octavious Oxendine

Oxendine wrapped up the afternoon discussing his weight loss, versatility on the defensive line, the team’s potential at linebacker and preseason hype, among other topics.
