Former Kentucky commit Marquise Davis will enter transfer portal
Cleveland (Ohio) Heights running back Marquise Davis was a major recruiting win for the Kentucky football program in the 2025 cycle. The blue-chip prospect committed to the Wildcats early and remained firm to his commitment — until the end. A surprise flip to Missouri happened in December as UK limped to a disappointing 4-8 finish.
But this recruitment is back open again. The tailback is set to enter the transfer portal after spending just one season in Columbia.
The former top-200 recruit rushed for 200 yards on 34 carries in his debut season. However, he was buried on the depth chart. ULM transfer Ahmad Hardy (1,560 rushing yards, 16 touchdowns) and Jamal Roberts (697 rushing yards, 5 touchdowns) each had big seasons for the Tigers. Now Marquise Davis will be looking for a new college football home with more opportunities.
Just last season, Kewan Lacy left Missouri after rushing for 104 yards on 23 carries as a true freshman. The former top-200 recruit landed at Ole Miss where he rushed for 1,279 yards and 20 touchdowns this season. Lacy will be participating in the College Football Playoff next weekend when Ole Miss hosts Tulane. Marquise Davis will be looking to make a similar splash somewhere else.
