A pair of Kentucky Wildcats were the best of the best at their positions during bowl season. Punter Max Duffy and offensive tackle Landon Young were named to The Associated Press All-Bowl Team following their performances in Kentucky’s 23-21 win over NC State in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl.

The two seniors were exceptional in their final game as Wildcats. As usual, Landon Young was a monster at left tackle. He graded at 92 percent, with 25 blocks at the point of attack, six knockdown blocks, allowed no quarterback sacks or pressures and had no missed assignments or penalties. He helped spring AJ Rose free for the longest run of the day and opened an enormous hole for Chris Rodriguez to run 26 yards untouched into the end zone for the game-clinching touchdown.

Duffy almost broke the internet with a juke unseen by the likes of any individual that plays his position. The Wolfpack broke through Wildcat blockers and screamed downhill at Duffy. A block was imminent, until the Aussie took a quick side-step and blasted the ball 42 yards downfield to the NC State 19-yard line.

Duffy was initially disappointed with the kick. “When I went off to the sideline I was pretty pissed off to be honest because we didn’t do the job that we wanted,” Duffy told an Australian news outlet. “But then I got to the sideline and all the guys were going crazy and telling me ‘You’re going to be on ESPN’ and ‘That’s definitely top 10 (on SportsCenter).’”

Aside from his memorable highlight, Duffy was great throughout the day. He boomed one kick 51 yards and contributed to NC State’s average starting field position on the 16-yard line. Duffy and Young will certainly be missed by the BBN.
