Just when you thought you couldn’t get any more excited about Michael Gilchrist and not have to sign up for a restraining order, he goes and does somethign like this.  It looks like Mike hasn’t been taking the part of McDonald All-American/Jordan Brand Classic/Kentucky commit lightly, and instead of shoring up all the glory for himself, he’s turned to his efforts toward the recruiting side of the game.  According to LJ Rose’s ‘Recruiting Diary’ over at dime magazine, Gilchrist has been pushing the Big Blue Line towards the 2012 Super Guard.

Per his ‘journal’:

A lot of guys that are committed to the schools on my list are definitely recruiting me, trying to get me to join them. Of all of them, I’d say Mike Gilchrist (Kentucky) and Cameron Ridley (Texas) are the hardest recruiters. I talk to Cameron every day, and at some point in the conversation Texas always comes up. I’m tight with Mike, and ever since he first committed to Kentucky he’s talked to me about coming out there and seeing what they’re all about. He doesn’t pressure me, though.

Rose is ranked as the #4 (Rivals) and #1 (Scout) Point Guard in the class and in the 20’s overall by both services.  He is considering Texas, Georgetown, Kansas, UCLA, and Kentucky.

Here’s the full diary entry if you want to read it, and here’s a youtube clip of him doing neat things with a basketball.
