Michigan reportedly hires Juwan Howard
Who will replace John Beilein at the University of Michigan? According to multiple reports, former Wolverine and NBA star Juwan Howard. Jon Rothstein says Michigan is expected to hire Howard, with a press conference coming either late this week or early next week.
Howard, who played for Michigan from 1991-94 and had a 19-year NBA career, has been member of the Miami Heat coaching staff under Erik Spoelstra since 2013. He has zero head coaching experience and zero college coaching experience.
This morning, Howard’s wife teased the move on social media:

Between Penny Hardaway at Memphis, Jerry Stackhouse at Vanderbilt, and now, it seems, Howard at Michigan, some athletic directors are clearly willing to sacrifice coaching experience in hopes an NBA name will boost recruiting.
UPDATE: According to Jeff Goodman, Howard and Michigan agreed to a five-year deal.
