[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="623"] via usatoday.com[/caption] While promoting the release of his new memoir "Yertle the Turtle" "The Long Game," Kentucky senator Mitch McConnell was asked about governor Matt Bevin's call for the resignation of his alma mater's president and the decision to blow up its current board of trustees–a move which we wrote about here The lifelong Dirty Bird fan agrees with Bevin's move on the board of trustees, but he's not so sure that forcing president Ramsey's resignation was the right call, telling WDRB news that Ramsey has been the best U of L president ever:
"I do think the governor did the right thing by clearing the board off," McConnell told WDRB News. "It's been a source of dissension and confusion both within the university and out in the community for a couple of years. So I think a fresh starts a good idea. Whether Jim Ramsey needs to be a part of the fresh start, I would like for the new board to consider that... If he does end up leaving, he's already been the best president of U of L in history."
