Mo Dioubate goes golfing just so he can drive the cart around
Summer practices are underway for the 2025-26 Kentucky men’s basketball team. But with so many new faces on the roster, what’s going on outside of the Joe Craft Center is arguably just as important to the success of next season’s Wildcats.
A few weeks after most of the players moved onto campus, team bonding hasn’t been an issue. It helps having a few holdovers from last season’s team, but whether it’s running father-daughter camps, helping with tornado relief in southern Kentucky, or simply watching the NBA Finals together, building team chemistry has come naturally to this group.
“It’s been a lot of laughs at nighttime,” Rising senior Denzel Aberdeen said earlier this week. “We always play the game and stuff like that together. Always walking to go eat together. Different stories from either previous schools or stuff in high school… It’s been very fun. The team is gelling good, we gelled very quick since day one.”

And as was the case with Mark Pope‘s first Kentucky team, this season’s squad enjoys hitting the links. They already have a designated cart driver, too: Alabama transfer Mo Dioubate, who posted a video on TikTok (with freshman Braydon Hawthorne) of himself enjoying his time cruising around the course. The video referenced a popular bit from the show I Think You Should Leave, and it got a good chuckle out of me.
Getting dangerously close to the green there, Mo…
On that note, Pitt transfer Jaland Lowe joined Dioubate and Hawthorne for a round, but he needs some help from the Big Blue Nation. “Who in Lexington can help me out with some golf clubs?” Lowe posted on his Instagram story. “Trynna start a new hobby.” Who’s got Kentucky’s new point guard on a nice new set?
