Murray State’s Historic Run: How the Racers Got Here & Why BBN Should Get Behind Them

For the first time ever, Murray State baseball is playing in an NCAA Super Regional. And KSR’s Steven Peake is asking the Big Blue Nation for some extra fans to help cheer on the Racers.

After winning the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament title and making it to the program’s fourth-ever NCAA Tournament (first since 2003), Murray State went into the Oxford Regional and posted a 3-1 record to make the Super Regional, beating No. 10 Ole Miss twice and Georgia Tech once in the process. Now, the Racers must beat the Duke Blue Devils in a three-game series to make the College World Series.

Game one in Durham, North Carolina, is set for Saturday at 1:00 p.m. ET on ESPNU. But before the first pitch is thrown, allow Steven to explain how Murray State got to this point and why you need to cheer on the Racers this weekend. The boys from the Bluegrass deserve some love.
