Murray State falls to UCLA in College World Series opener

Cinderella made an appearance in the 2025 College World Series. Now they are 27 outs away from elimination.
Murray State has became a college baseball darling over the last few weeks as the Racers marched through the Ole Miss regional and Duke super regional. But the Missouri Valley champion was unable to take down another national seed on Saturday afternoon.
UCLA jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the fourth inning in Omaha and that was enough to move to the winners bracket in front of 24,346 at Charles Schwab Field.
Murray State (44-16) will play again on Monday afternoon in Omaha in the elimination game at the College World Series.

The Racers will do that after the bullpen ate up three innings in Saturday’s loss. The underdog put together a rally in the eighth inning but did not have enough to beat the Big Ten Champions on the biggest stage in college baseball. To extend their stay in Omaha, Murray State will have to beat another national seed on Monday afternoon. The Kentucky school will face the loser of Arkansas-LSU.
