Payne's performance included 16 points, seven rebounds, and four assists, including a game-winner from three in the final seconds of the game. Payne now has pressure to perform in just his second season in the backcourt with the addition to Vic Oladipo to the roster in OKC. Payne was not the primary ball handler yesterday, and his relentless off the ball effort is what is going to get him more time on the court this season with Russell running the point. The OKC Thunder will once again be a title contender this season as they made a great trade for a position they needed so badly, and lost nobody important to free agency (bold prediction, kind of, not really). KD and one of the best backcourts in basketball could lead this team to a chip in 2017, and Payne will look to build on his 57 appearances as a rook last season right behind the 1-2 duo. Check out some of his highlights from yesterday's performance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zASuVuzN-JA
