New York Giants Waive Melvin Lewis

by:CWag07/29/16
twitter Former Kentucky Defensive Tackle Melvin Lewis was waived by the New York Giants today. After being picked up by the Giants in the offseason as an undrafted free agent, Lewis participated in all spring activities in New York. He faced an uphill battle all summer with a crowd at the defensive tackle position. The Giants return one DT starter in Jonathan Hankins and spent top-dollar on one of the league's leading run stoppers, Damon Harrison, this offseason. Hopefully Lewis can find a spot on a 53-man roster outside of the Big Apple. If not, look for the ex-Cat to impress on a practice squad.
