If you want to check out some of the top notch talent coming to Kentucky next year, be sure to watch the Nike Hoop Summit on ESPN2 at 3 p.m. today.  UK signees De’Aaron Fox and Wenyen Gabriel will represent Team USA, which coincidentally also includes five-star Texas big men Jarrett Allen and  Marques Bolden. Both of whom, remain on Coach John Calipari's recruiting list for the class of 2016. Fox and Gabriel have already been making waves during workouts in Portland this week, which have been open to both the media and a slew of NBA scouts. But according to an interview with USA Today High School Sports, Fox, (who has some pretty big shoes to fill next season now that UK Point God and recent Bob Cousy Award recipient Tyler Ulis has declared for the NBA draft) isn't letting the pressure get to him.
“You don’t want to be out there trying to be something you’re not and doing things to try and impress those guys,” said Fox. “Then you didn’t really impress them; whoever you were trying to be impressed them and you can’t keep that up. I’m definitely more mindful of things I do this week, but I’m just mindful anyway. Just be yourself and play hard; everything else will take care of itself.”
Fox also told Larry Vaught he welcomes his future as a Kentucky Wildcat.
“I’m doing what I love to do. So I won’t see anything as pressure. I just want to play point guard for John Calipari,” Fox said. “I want to win a national championship. We all do. We want to get to Kentucky, do what we know we can do and then if we are able to leave for the NBA, then we will.”
DeAndre Ayton, the Bahamian 7-footer who is ranked No. 1 overall in the 2017 class, will be competing  for the World Select Team. Ayton is also a target for Coach Cal and has consistently listed UK among his top school. The native of the Bahamas has apparently been keeping Kentucky in the back of his mind, as he said earlier this week that he hopes to follow in the footsteps of former Wildcat Anthony Davis. Fox and Gabriel are the 22nd and 23rd Wildcats (21st under Calipari) to compete in the event, which dates back to 1995.  Another UK signee, Bam Adebayo, was also chosen to play in the game, but decided to pull out of the event to concentrate on his academics. Adebayo, Fox, Gabriel, Bolden and UK signee Malik Monk will play in next weekend’s Jordan Brand Classic game in Brooklyn. Other top recruits in the event include Duke signees Jayson Tatum and Frank Jackson , Kansas commitment Udoka Azubuike, and No. 1 overall prospect Josh Jackson, who has narrowed his list to Arizona, Kansas and Michigan State.
