Nike releases new Kentucky Wildcats Air Max sneakers

Nike has released another sneaker for Big Blue Nation to gobble up ahead of football and basketball seasons — and this one is closer to the casual look you can wear to Kroger Field, Rupp Arena or Historic Memorial Coliseum, rather than the running shoes we typically see from the Swoosh.

They dropped the blue UK Zoom Pegasus 41 this time last year, and now, it’s time for the Kentucky Wildcats Air Max Verse.

These officially licensed sneakers are available now at the retail cost of $124.99 with free shipping from the UK Team Shop, to your door “no later than Friday, September 12,” just in time for Week 3 of football season and well ahead of the start of basketball with Mark Pope and Kenny Brooks returning for year two in Lexington.

“Show off your Kentucky Wildcats pride in style and comfort with these Air Max Verse shoes from Nike,” the product description reads. “The mesh upper with leather overlays offers breathability and durability, perfect for all-day wear, while the waffle outsole provides excellent grip for any activity. The sneakers are blue, white and grey with UK logos on the tongue and insole, “Go Big Blue” and “Wildcats” written on the side tags. Using Air Max technology, they’re pretty spectacular (and relatively affordable).

Not a fan? The UK Zoom Pegasus 41 sneakers are still available, too, those dropping on August 29, 2024. They’re a bit more expensive at $154.99, but they’re better for runners showing off their love for the Cats on the move.
