North Hardin 3-star WR Shaun Boykins commits to Louisville

One of the Bluegrass State’s top football talents isn’t straying too far away from home.
On Wednesday afternoon, class of 2024 three-star wide receiver Shaun Boykins Jr. out of North Hardin High School announced his commitment to the Louisville Cardinals. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound pass catcher chose the Cards over offers from the likes of Kentucky, West Virginia, Marshall, Miami (OH), Central Michigan, and others.
In the last calendar year, Boykins took four unofficial visits to Kentucky, appearing at a camp in June, two games during the 2022 season, and for Kentucky’s Junior Day in January. UK was also his first-ever Divison I offer. But in the end, he elected to link up with new head coach Jeff Brohm in Louisville.
Boykins made the announcement in front of his family, friends, and North Hardin classmates.
Boykins’ commitment to the Cardinals comes less than a week after visiting for the program’s Spring Game over the weekend — his fifth unofficial visit to Louisville throughout the recruiting process. Prior to his commitment, Boykins told KSR that an official visit to Louisville is locked in for June 16-18.

With Boykins in the fold, Brohm’s first class at Louisville now has six total commitments. The class as a whole ranks No. 28 nationally and No. 5 in the ACC. One of Boykins’ teammates at North Hardin, ’24 three-star EDGE Darius Wiley, is also being recruited by both Louisville and Kentucky.
Boykins is considered the No. 925 rising senior in the country and the No. 129 overall wide receiver, per the On3 Industry Ranking.
